We are delighted to inform you that both the winter and summer fell races are now permanent fixtures in our calendar.
Winter Race – Sunday 5 March 2017
The Hope Fell Race winter route is a 10.5km route with 540m of ascent; the reverse of the well-loved summer run!
The route runs over the same course as the summer race but the other way round with a slight deviation up Aston Lane rather than up the fields of Twitchill Farm however, unlike the summer route this race is only partly marshaled and marked. Organised and run using the FRA guidelines; full body cover (taped seemed waterproofs, hat and gloves) will need to be either carried or worn.
The race starts at 11.00am, with registration open from 9.30am on the day. The entry fee is £5 with all proceeds donated to local charities and groups. Please note that this race is only open to those aged over 16 years.
Entry is on the standard FRA form; you can download and bring along a completed version, register on the day or in advance at the Accelerate store.
The popular 9.5km summer summit of Win Hill will once again take place during Hope Wakes Week.
Rated a BS race by FRA rules; the route is off road, crossing meadows, a little bit of tarmac, rough hill paths, forest and open moorland. It summits Win Hill, a total ascent of 451 meters (1483 ft) providing spectacular views across the Hope Valley. The course is marshaled and partly marked and, as always safety support is provided by Edale Mountain Rescue and St John’s Ambulance.
Summit Win Hill in this 9.5 km / 5.9 mile race with 451 metres of ascent.
Race Starts: 7.30pm
Entry: Registrations open at 6pm on the day. £5 Entry Fee.
Entrants must be over 16 years of age (U18’s require parental consent).
Hope Fell Race is registered with the Fell Runners Association and adheres to the FRA guidelines.
